Sun beyond the clouds

– Karan Bir

The sun shining
but its rays not on you.
Had it been a summer day
I would have cursed the same sun
Sadly, at this moment,
it was what I need,
beyond heat, beyond burns,
beyond its ability to run the plant dry.
The sun yet the obstacles
The clouds, those are just the same
like thoughts burying all the
positivity in my mind.
How would you even think about
the blue sky behind?
And you would go around saying
“I believe in what I see”.

If plants had the ability to see me write this
I’m sure they’d already wish me death
seeing how I’m seeking the sun beyond
running the nature dry.
I don’t even know if it’s right
for me to realise that
the world doesn’t revolve around me.

Because I know
No menkind is born to not bear
the worldly sufferings.
I am pretty sure
many flowers don’t even get to
see the spring
Because it never felt
the rays of the sun.
